Trip to London May 16th/17th 2017
The children in Yrs 4/5 & 6 will be taking part in a visit to London. They will be staying on the HMS Belfast for one night where they will be sleeping in bunks and having a Kip in a Ship talk and presentation.
After lunch they will be going to the Bank of England for 45-60 minute presentation including a film entitled ‘Pounds & Pence’. Children will enjoy the upbeat style of the film and the humorous scenarios which explain the points in an accessible and entertaining way. Using sheets of new banknotes worth thousands of pounds, children will examine the security features on these genuine notes, and be encouraged to play an active part throughout the presentation.
It is then time for evening meal and back to HMS Belfast for workshop and exclusive access to Captain’s wheel house for London Skyline presentation.
On 17th there will be an Education workshop session on the ship and a tour of HMS Belfast.
After lunch they will be visiting The Globe Theatre to learn about Shakespeare and take part in an acting session with a Globe Actor.
After all this fun and excitement they will meet the coach and travel home stopping for meal.
